Block M Party
Big Ticket Productions has brought some fun acts to U of M’s campus in years past. Last year, the group sponsored Schoolboy Q’s concert. This year, they are presenting the Block M Party in Hill Auditorium on March 28th! G-Eazy is headlining and he will be supported by Dizzy Wright and Matoma.
G-Eazy is a rapper from California who has been putting out solo music since 2009. Critics dubbed him “the James Dean of Rap,” most likely a nod to his signature look and leather jacket. His ‘big break’ is considered his reinterpretation of the band Dion’s “Runaround Sue.” Since then, G-Eazy has made his mark with continued interesting samples and collaborations with artists such as Hoodie Allen. He has opened for Drake on tour and most recently was named an MTV “Artist to Watch,” so we are excited to see the energy he brings to Hill – especially since he released new music in 2014!
Dizzy Wright is from Flint, Michigan, so hopefully he will be extra hyped to be playing for a hometown crowd! The rapper signed with a major label in 2011 and most recently dropped a digital download album in February called Lost in Reality. Check out the blissed out “State of Mind” or “Killem Wit Kindness” as a way to start enjoying his music.
Matoma is well known in the tropical-house music scene. The producer and DJ is from Norway and is about to make it big, headlining music festivals in Norway and Canada this year. His remix of “Old Thing Back” by Notorious B.I.G feat. Ja Rule is what brought him to national attention, and we are excited to see what is coming from Matoma in the future.
For this awesome show, we have 2 tickets to give away. They are floor seats, center stage, 13 rows back (pretty darn good if you ask me). The floor is now sold out, so these are the best tickets you can find!
